Employer-Sponsored Visa
Most companies in New Zealand can sponsor nominated participants as long as they cannot find a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident to fill the position. Here are the most commonly used employer sponsored visas.
EMPLOYER ACCREDITATION
Employer Accreditation is required for all companies who wish to employ migrants in New Zealand.
Phase 1
EMPLOYER JOB CHECK
Employers are required to apply for Job Check to ensure they advertised the position appropriately and that there are no New Zealanders available for the position.
phase 2
ACCREDITED EMPLOYER WORK VISA
Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) is the only visa to sponsor a migrant in New Zealand.

Employer-Sponsored Visa
Most companies in New Zealand can sponsor nominated participants as long as they cannot find a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident to fill the position. Here are the most commonly used employer sponsored visas.
STRAIGHT TO RESIDENCE
Greenlist 1 – The Straight to Residence is a fast-tracked pathway for workers of an accredited employer whose role is on Tier 1 of the Green List.
WORK TO RESIDENCE
Greenlist 2 -Work to Residence allows Accredited employer work visa holders to apply for Residence in New Zealand after a period of 2 years of working in a role that is on Tier 2 of the Green List.
SKILLED MIGRANT CATEGORY
The Skilled Migrant Category(SMC) allows foreigners who are qualified or experienced in a required profession to migrate to New Zealand permanently. This is a points based application.
